# One Visioon Bible Sources & Licenses

Updated: September 20, 2026

## The next app update

This notice describes resources prepared for the next app update. The App Store version may contain an earlier set. Reading text and word-study data come from different editions. The next update removes bundled ESV, NIV, CSB, and Greek Old Testament resources from the current source build.

## Berean Standard Bible

The Berean Bible project dedicated its texts to the public domain on April 30, 2023. One Visioon converts BSB-publishing USFM data to verse-keyed JSON. The edition stays identified; study labels are separate additions.

## World English Bible and ASV

The World English Bible is public domain. World English Bible is a trademark identifying its faithful text; adapted comparison notes are not a new WEB edition. One Visioon imports the linked WEB JSON distribution. The American Standard Version (1901) is public domain in the United States. These editions have distinct wording and versification.

## King James Version

The app source includes KJV 1769 text, also used for labeled textual-variant comparisons. KJV is public domain in the United States; rights in the United Kingdom are vested in the Crown and administered by its patentees. This notice is not a UK reproduction license. Distribution and reuse must respect territorial rights.

## Hebrew Old Testament

The Westminster Leningrad Codex is provided through the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible Project (OSHB). WLC text is public domain. OSHB lemma and morphology data use Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International. Credit: Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible Project.

One Visioon converts word records to JSON and builds a search index. This corpus includes Biblical Aramaic passages. Transliteration is a reading aid; the current Hebrew tools do not provide a complete Hebrew-English lexicon or syntax analysis.

## Greek New Testament

The reading text is the SBL Greek New Testament. Copyright 2010 Society of Biblical Literature and Logos Bible Software. Licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International. One Visioon converts its verses to JSON and removes apparatus markers; consult the source edition for its full apparatus.

Greek study records derive from the Open Greek New Testament Project by Eliran Wong, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International, and STEPBible language data. Credit: STEP Bible; original data developed at Tyndale House, Cambridge. This separate word-study layer can differ from SBLGNT readings.

The updated study files use the Tyndale House and OpenGNT gloss columns and exclude Mounce glosses, whose separate reuse permission was not documented here. The adapted Greek records and combined search index are distributed under CC BY-SA 4.0. Hebrew morphology retains CC BY 4.0, and the original SBLGNT text retains CC BY 4.0. Formats, indexing, selected gloss columns, and transliteration have been adapted for the app.

## Variants, adaptations, and limits

The next update identifies selected verses absent from an English edition, including Matthew 17:21, as Textual variant (KJV/TR). This means KJV comparison wording associated with the Textus Receptus tradition, not wording from the selected modern translation or a claim that one manuscript tradition is universally established as original.

Editions may print, bracket, or footnote these verses. Glosses aid study but do not replace a full lexicon, manuscript apparatus, or qualified instruction. We do not claim every alignment or verse-number mapping has received scholarly review.

Adaptations retain applicable source licenses, including attribution and ShareAlike. No publisher endorsement is implied. Report possible errors with the exact reference and version.
